Trick AND TREAT is the 16th episode in airing order of Season 3 of Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City. It premiered on October 21st, 2023.
Summary[]
It’s Frightfall and Strawberry and her friends are in for more tricks than treats, thanks to the mischievous Cherry and Cheese.
Plot[]
The episode begins as the franchise's titular heroine stirs some batter when a present appears at the window of her food truck. She is quite enamored, but the "present" turns out to really be a bomb that Cheese Strudel and Cherry Streusel planted when Strawberry Shortcake tries to open it, resulting in her getting covered in green slime that explodes out of the box. Outraged over their attack, Strawberry Shortcake suggests that Strudel and Streusel should tone their tricks down. Confident they got the message, she cleans up; however her plan goes awry quickly:
- Orange Blossom gets her oranges stolen, with the stolen oranges replaced with rotten food, and an orange that she picks up explodes on her (albeit way less violently than the gift bomb that Strawberry Shortcake was given).
- Lime Chiffon gets her glasses substituted for fake glasses that hinder her sight, while her partner gets her tools stolen and her hand stuck in a jar of glue.
- Blueberry Muffin accidentally spikes her ice cream with sauce (which the twins placed on her cart) that causes a customer to breathe fire.
- Raspberry Tart finds her truck flipped, though how the twins did this stunt is unknown.
- Bread Pudding gets crushed under some pumpkins, though he survives.
- Strawberry Shortcake herself later gets hit by green slime exploding out of her oven, implying the twins rigged it with a slime bomb.
Strawberry Shortcake and her friends later congregate to deal with their adversary's attack, but Strawberry Shortcake is against the an-eye-for-an-eye approach. Raspberry Tart then suggests old-fashioned Fright Fall scares.
Strudel and Streusel are later shown calling for the Berry Besties to no avail. Streusel admits that she and Strudel must have scared the Berry Besties too much with their prank rampage, but they laugh it off. Lime Chiffon and Blueberry Muffin are talking close-by, discussing about how J. Quincy Cupcake would react to the pranks. Hearing this, Strudel and Streusel laugh, but fog floods the area. Cupcake himself then makes his entrance, threatening the twins; while the twins claim not to be scared, he is sure that the "Batter Beast" will. Strudel and Streusel book it for their lives, only to be cornered by silhouettes of monsters. Strawberry Shortcake then appears as they collapse, revealing that Cupcake was actually a costume: Raspberry Tart was posing as the head, chest, and arms, Blueberry Muffin was mimicking the belly, and Orange Blossom was the legs. The other monsters were robots. Strawberry Shortcake offers some cupcakes, but Strudel and Streusel refuse. Running off with his sister, Strudel returns briefly to spike a cupcake onto the floor. Strawberry Shortcake tries to share with her friends, but gets caught by the Hug Master 3000 when fog floods the area again, capping off the episode.
