Traffic Jam is the 15th episode in airing order of Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City Season 2, and the 8th episode in the official order. It premiered on 24th September, 2022.
Summary[]
Strawberry and friends are ecstatic to attend a food truck festival to sell cupcakes and ice cream, but on the way there they get stuck in traffic.
Plot[]
The episode begins with Strawberry Shortcake (and Orange Blossom in the passenger seat) driving her truck across Big Apple City's bridge, excited to attend the Cumin-Thyme Museum's Food Truck Festival with Blueberry Muffin, who is going to meet with Strawberry and Orange there.
Cutaway: Strawberry Shortcake asks what's better than cupcakes or ice cream, and answers with cupcakes and ice cream, giggling as images of ice cream and cupcakes pop up around her.
Strawberry thanks Orange for tagging along, which Orange reciprocates, as she feels it's fun to get out of the Berryworks and enjoy the sun and fresh air sometimes. Before Orange can finish her thought, however, Strawberry suddenly brakes, accidentally slamming Orange into the windshield. The two look outside, realizing they're in a traffic jam. Strawberry isn't worried, and thinks they can find another way around. She calls Blueberry on her phone, telling her that she and Orange are in a teensy little traffic jam on Apricot Avenue, and asks Blueberry how she's doing. Blueberry explains that apparently the universe wants her to stay in Watermelon Way, as she's also stuck in traffic, but she's cool with it since she has Huckleberry Pie keeping her company. Huckleberry, shivering from having to sit in the Dreamery Creamery's freezer, agrees with Blueberry.
Strawberry tells Orange that since Huck and Blueberry are cool with the situation, they should be too, and suggests finding a detour instead. Orange spots a way out of the traffic jam, and Strawberry moves to enter it, but as they drive along it they're suddenly caught in another traffic jam. Orange spots another way, but they're stopped by traffic there too. Strawberry starts laughing nervously, not wanting to be late since she has a lot of cupcakes to sell. She then realizes that Blueberry Muffin's ice cream could melt, and thinks she must be freaking out.
Blueberry Muffin exclaims that she's totally freaking out...because Huckleberry is playing her favorite song on his guitar. She begins dancing to Huck's music, not bothered with her situation in the slightest.
Back with the Extraordinary Berry, Strawberry mutters to herself as she bangs her head on her steering wheel, each headslam honking the horn rhythmically. Orange, annoyed, loudly suggests Strawberry takes a break from the honking, and they listen to music instead. She begins tuning the radio, switching stations to find a good song, but the loud rapid switching quickly gets on Strawberry's nerves. She yells for Orange to stop, and suggests they play a game to pass the time. She begins playing "I Spy", only to realize that that the only thing she can see is the traffic around her, yelling in frustration.
Back with the Dreamery Creamery, Strawberry's distant screaming can be heard, but Huckleberry Pie is preoccupied with how hungry the traffic has been making him. Blueberry Muffin gives him an ice cream cone, and Huck thanks her. In an adjacent car, Honeydew Sorbet pops up from Mrs. Crumbcake's car, having spotted the ice cream. Blueberry notices, and gets an idea as she snatches back the ice cream and runs over to Crumbcake's car. She gives the ice cream to Crumbcake so Honeydew can have it. Mrs. Crumbcake thanks her, but is interrupted by Honeydew suddenly snatching the ice cream out of her hand and devouring it instantly. The other drivers begin clamoring for ice cream, and the two Berry Besties begin happily taking orders.
Meanwhile, Strawberry Shortcake stares out of her truck with boredom, watching an old man slowly walk by, moving much faster than the traffic has been. A snail slowly crawls along the road, also moving faster than the traffic. Orange Blossom, thoroughly bored, begins feeling that they're never going to move. Strawberry, having finally snapped, deliriously tells Orange that traffic is their new home and they'll live here now, along with their dozens of cupcake children as she draws a face in one. She mutters that they'll raise them as their own and never see their friends again, as she takes a bite out of the cupcake. She stares at the cupcake, telling it that it tastes like sunshine and sleepovers. She suddenly hears Blueberry greeting them, and sees her and Huck rolling up to their window. Strawberry is initially unsure they're there, wondering if they're some sort of traffic mirage and not real. Blueberry tells Strawberry that reality is just a concept, and so is money, as she and Huck hold up large stacks of bills, which Strawberry and Orange are surprised by. Huckleberry jokes that traffic jams make berries way hungrier than regular jam. Blueberry tells her friends that traffic jams are the best, as she and Huck bike away. Strawberry, snapped out of her delirious state, realizes that she and Orange could've been selling the cupcakes in traffic the entire time.
Cutaway: Strawberry stands there in stunned silence.
Cutaway: Orange stands there in stunned silence.
Strawberry and Orange immediately begin trying to sell the cupcakes to the other drivers, but the traffic light turns green and everyberry speeds off. The two sit in the truck, when Strawberry immediately gains a look of determination as she starts the engine. Orange, mildly concerned, asks her where are they going, and Strawberry tells her that she's going to get stuck in traffic, as the two drive into the sunset.

Trivia[]
- Huckleberry's segment in the "Meet the Berries" minisode revealed that he doesn't understand how money works, after he tried to pay Strawberry with pocket trash that was thrown into his money bowl from his busking in the Funnelcake System. It is likely Huck learned how money works at some point, possibly due to him running his own cart at the Berryworks.
- This episode establishes Strawberry Shortcake and Orange Blossom's discomfort with sitting still for long periods of time.
Errors[]
- Diana Kaarina is not credited for voicing Mrs. Crumbcake despite being credited for voicing Blueberry Muffin.
- Huck says "people" near the end of the episode, when "berries" has been established to be the in-universe terminology to refer to others.
