The Case of the Missing Spoon is the 16th episode in airing order of Season 2 of Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City. It premiered on October 1st, 2022.
Summary[]
Strawberry Shortcake’s Lucky Spoon keeps mysteriously disappearing and reappearing in her friends’ carts – something fishy is afoot…
Plot[]
Lime Chiffon reads out Genoise la Creme's recent post complimenting and recommending Strawberry's red velvet brownie and Strawberry is happy about this achievement. She gives her thanks to her cat Custard, her friends and her lucky spoon. While she continues talking, The Peculiar Purple Pieman observes her.
Strawberry's at her truck and gets startled by Pieman's sudden appearance, he lets Strawberry know that if she's not careful her friends will start to get jealous of her. She tells him that it would never happen and he continues and recounts that he used to have a squad of baking friends that now presumably broke apart and leaving only him. Sour Grapes unknowingly interrupts him, asking him for something only to get yelled at by him. She walks away and he points out her lucky spoon and advises her to keep an eye on and adds that she'll never know who will betray her.
Cutaway: Strawberry is very certain that the Pieman is going to steal her spoon.
She places her spoon down and goes to retrieve a bag of flour and notices that he spoon disappeared. She's expected it to happen and when she's about to go and confront Pieman about her missing spoon, she sees him reading a newspaper and looks around the Berryworks. She notices her spoon on the Dreamery Creamery and asks Blueberry Muffin why she has her spoon. Blueberry didn't notice that it was there and gives the spoon back to Strawberry, she thinks that her friend's spoon wanted to see her ice cream scoop. Strawberry leaves.
Next she was going to retrieve a pastry from her oven and notices that her spoon vanished again, she was going to see Pieman about her missing spoon and sees him on the phone. She finds her spoon on Lemon and Lime's truck and asks both Lemon Meringue and Lime Chiffon which one of them took her spoon and Lemon replies asking her why would they take her spoon and shows off an invention called "the Mega Stirrer" which malfunctions and launches the spoons instead, Lime hands the lucky spoon back to Strawberry. Several montages play of her looking for her spoon and finding it. Finding it in places like Bread Pudding's back pocket and Orange Blossom's blender, the pets of her friends notices this and forms a circle discussing.
Cutaway: Strawberry wants to believe that Pieman did it but he's far away from her cart while her spoon appears anywhere and also angrily points out Pieman cutting his toes in public.
It's night time in the Berryworks and Strawberry is paranoid while heavily monitoring her spoon. Custard distracts her by pretending to sleep next to her then leaving once she falls asleep. The pets all prepare while Custard takes the lucky spoon and leaves it in the open. A crow takes the spoon and Custard uses Frappe to take the spoon but fails as Frappe flies with the crow. Cheesecake jumps onto the crow which lowers the crown while Red Hot and Pupcake snatches the spoon from the crow, Strawberry wakes up and notices this. Custard runs and helps Red Hot and Pupcake retrieve the spoon. Strawberry notices Pieman and the crow at his store and calls him out. Pieman dismisses what she said as accusations and claims that he never saw this crow in his life. Strawberry thanks the pets and plans to reward them with treats, meanwhile Pieman scolds the crow and goes back to his store. Sour criticizes him for blaming everything on everyone. She overhears Strawberry talk about how having pets is the best. The episode ends with Sour asking if the crow wants a cracker and it affectionately rubs her face.
