Strawberry Shortcake's Spring Spectacular is the third (in release order) installment of the Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City Berry Big Specials. This special's theme is about the season spring and Monstrous Giant Plants.
Summary[]
Strawberry thinks more popularity will help her baking dreams come true and decides to compete to win best float at the flower festival. Pumpkin Spice, not wanting to be outdone, teams up with the Purple Pieman to stop Strawberry from winning. [5]

- Pumpkin Spice properly plays an antagonistic role in this special, unlike in the Beast of Berry Bog special where she was more of a neutral, though incredibly mean, character.
- When the Peculiar Purple Pieman first appears, he does his signature “Ya-ta-ta-ta” catchphrase and dance he had in the original 1980s specials and 2003 series.
- Spring Spectacular is the first of the Berry in the Big City specials to get a DVD release, available on April 30th, 2024.
- This is the first special to not introduce any new characters, only featuring pre-existing characters.
- Plum Pudding appears as part of the main cast for the special, marking his fourth major role in the series after All About Lemon, Berry Competitive, and Donuts and Drawbridges.
- Pumpkin Spice mentions that she has a spike in popularity in the fall, but is pretty much ignored for the rest of the year. This is a joke about her namesake, which gains prominence in the fall but is uncommon in any other time.
Continuity[]
- During “Ready For My Dreams To Grow”, a kid can be seen playing with a Corny the Cob doll.
- Huckleberry’s habit of frantically playing his guitar when scared or nervous carries over from Strawberry Shortcake and the Beast of Berry Bog.
- Blueberry Muffin’s claims of being able to communicate with plants plays a major role in the special, as she manages to successfully talk to the vines. Though it still isn’t concretely established if this is a legitimate ability, as the vines were chemically altered.
- Orange Blossom mentions Tangerine Smash as being her biggest inspiration to be heroic, like in Super-Berry.
