Strawberry's Friendship Party is the 12th episode in airing order of Season 3 of Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City. It premiered on September 23rd, 2023.
Summary[]
All of the Berry Besties are too busy with work to hang out, so Strawberry throws a Friendship Party hoping to bring all her friends back together.
Plot[]
The episode begins with Strawberry frantically baking pies in her truck with Custard. She expresses how things have been extremely busy ever since Crabapple took over the Berryworks. Strawberry isn't too worried though as she can always take a break with her friends, at least she thought. After exiting her truck she watches as her friends race around and hurry to do their chores. After recovering from being run into by Orange and Blueberry she begins the next chore on her list which is hosing down the courtyard. As she does this she lets out a sigh which Crabapple notices. Crabapple walks over and asks what's wrong to which Strawberry expresses how much she misses spending time with her friends. Crabapple responds by telling her success takes sacrifice and friends can grow apart from each other. Strawberry is horrified at the thought and runs over to grab every berry's attention. She makes an announcement that they all need a friendship party. Raspberry responds saying that it sounds fun but they've all been so busy. Orange tells her that she can do two Tuesday from now and Lemon asks if they even have time for a party. Before Lime can respond Strawberry jumps in front of her and throws a bunch of invitations in the air.
At home Strawberry prepares the party by blowing up balloons, putting up streamers, and baking. Aunt Praline walks in and complements the room and Strawberry tells her how excited she is. A knock on the door can be heard and before Strawberry can see how it is Orange runs past her. Orange runs over to the microphone, compliments it, and then pulls Strawberry in for a photo. Once the flash wears off Strawberry is surprised to see Orange heading out the door. Strawberry runs over and asks why to which Orange responds she's on a tight smoothie schedule. Strawberry sighs before another knock at the door is heard. She opens it thinking it's one of her friends only to be greeted by the Cakenator. The Cakenator tells her that Lemon could not make it but tells her that it enjoys partying. Strawberry's phone buzzes and she picks up the call to see Raspberry and Lime. Lime tells her that they were to busy to make it but thought they could video chat instead. Raspberry starts to talk but it cut off when Limes phone freezes the call. Strawberry is still hopefully since Blueberry is still available until a paper airplane hits her. She reads the note attaches and it tells her that she can't be there. Strawberry crumbles the ball up and sighs. Aunt Praline walks over to Strawberry and asks if she's ok. Strawberry tells her that every berry is busy but that's to be expected since success takes sacrifice. Aunt Praline is shocked and asks her who says that. She reassures Strawberry that it isn't true since she too is extremely busy but still is able to see her friends. Aunt Praline asks why choose between friend time and work time when it's possible to do both. In a cutaway Strawberry says that while she does want to be successful in baking she still loves her friends and shouldn't have to choose between them.
Back at the Berryworks Crabapple hears partying and goes to shut it down. However she is surprised when she sees every berry doing their chores yet still having fun. Strawberry and Raspberry are decorating a cake, Blueberry and Lemon are cleaning the courtyard, and Lime and Orange and making smoothies. Crabapple asks what's going on and Strawberry tells her that she was right that success takes sacrifice. However she adds that doing it with friends makes it a lot easier. Strawberry gives Crabapple her phone and the episode ends with the friends gathering around for a group photo.
