Summary[]
Strawberry Shortcake and friends try to cut corners on cleaning day so that they can enjoy a surprise Lime Chiffon has waiting for them when they finish.
Plot[]
Cutaway: Lime Chiffon excitedly declares it's Spring Cleaning Day in a singsong tone. She claims it's the perfect day for berries who are organized, precise, and love making lists.
Lime briefs her Berry Besties in the Berryworks courtyard, telling them the cleaning won't be easy, but she's already strategized a path to victory. She hands Strawberry Shortcake a card listing all their assignments. Strawberry thinks it's not bad... until the card unfolds into a very long list, stretching across the entire screen. Lime declares that the Berryworks will shine with cleanliness before the day is over, and she has a big surprise for her friends once they're finished.
Strawberry takes note of the "surprise" Lime mentioned, who skates past them with sponges on her feet. Strawberry also notes that Lime's very intense about cleaning, which Lemon Meringue confirms as Lime skates by with a mop, telling her friends she's going to clean the highline. Strawberry ends up agreeing that cleaning is important, and is happy to see the surprise. She's nearly knocked over by Lime skating past her with the mop, but Strawberry brushes that off and thinks that it'll be fun.
Strawberry, unhappy. thinks it's not fun, as she and her friends clean the area while surrounded by piles of garbage. Orange Blossom complains that they're never going to finish. Lemon tells them to not fear and introduces her new invention, The Dream Clean 3000, and ensures her friends that they'll get their surprise in no time. She turns it on and it begins sucking up all the garbage, but it ends up being so powerful it begins sucking up everything and overloads, exploding in a cloud of dust and making the Berryworks even more dirty. Strawberry exclaims that they're not getting done today, Orange notes that Lime will be disappointed if the place isn't clean, and Lemon is disappointed that they won't get the surprise. Blueberry Muffin wishes there was an old abandoned office that no one uses so they can stuff everything there and deal with it later, making the Berryworks clean, Lime happy, and everyberry can get the surprise. Blueberry asks her friends why they're all staring at her and questions if they can see her aura, wondering what color it is.
Orange activates the hidden passageway to J. Quincy's old office, which is where the girls plan to hide all their garbage. Strawberry is hesitant to do this, but Lemon reassures her that they'll still clean up like Lime wanted, they'll just do it later. Blueberry hastily interrupts and tells her friends that J Quincy's ghost says that it's a good idea. The girls are unnerved, and Strawberry guesses that means they should start moving stuff.
Some time later, the Berryworks is shining with cleanliness. Lime Chiffon is impressed that they made the place cleaner than she thought. She asks her friends if they're ready for the surprise, much to their excitement...until she begins leading them through the old storage facilities where J. Quincy's office is. Lime tells them it's gonna be the best surprise ever as she activates the hidden passageway. Her friends try to dissuade her, but to no avail, as Lime is buried under a pile of garbage. Lime pops out of the garbage, incredulous, asking her friends if this is how they clean up. The Cakenator 4 flies off from the pile. Lime explains that Bread Pudding allowed them to convert J Quincy's old office into a hangout spot if they agreed to clean the whole Berryworks, and that was what the surprise was going to be. She trudges away, disappointed in her friends for the way they decided to use it. The girls feel awful, and Blueberry wonders how they can possibly make it up to Lime, to which Strawberry says they need to do what they should've done from the start.
The Berry Besties started properly cleaning. Lemon removes the garbage from the office. Strawberry dusts off J. Quincy's desk, but sneezes and covers herself in dust, to which she begins dusting herself off. Blueberry cleans the stained glass window, and ends up being spinned around by it and left dizzy afterwards, much to Lemon's confusion. Strawberry and Orange sweep the floors, knocking a soda can to each other, which ends up devolving into a competition between the two as they sweep faster and faster. Afterward, the girls begin to decorate the office, setting up furniture and decorations.
Strawberry brings Lime back to the office, covering her eyes. She tells Lime that they know they messed up and feel awful about ruining the surprise, so to apologize, they wanted to present her with a surprise of their own. Blueberry tells Lime to open her eyes, revealing to her friend the new Berry Besties Clubhouse. The girls all apologize to Lime, who accepts it and is in awe at the place. Something then occurs to Lime, and she asks her friends where they put all the garbage, which they're hesitant to answer.
As Bread Pudding opens the door to his office, he ends up being buried under the piles of garbage. He pops out, displeased, as the Cakenator 4 flies away again.

- The Cakenator 4 (The Cakenator)

- The Mecha Sparkberry Turbo Cooler from "Ice Cream Trouble" appears as part of the garbage, despite not being shown off by Lemon until that episode. It isn't necessarily an inconsistency, however, as Lemon never said she built it during that episode.
- The Berry Scary Oven from Oven Trouble is likely to raise an eyebrow to some viewers too, as it malfunctioned in that episode and was replaced with the Very Berry Oven. However, it wasn't actually shown exploding, and the mess instead came from an eruption of rainbow fudge. It could be possible the oven was actually left intact, and was simply placed in storage.
- Blueberry's belief in the supernatural and obsession with meeting J. Quincy Cupcake's ghost is briefly referenced, when Blueberry claims J. Quincy said it's okay to store the garbage in his old office.
- Orange and Strawberry become competitive over sweeping the floor, like how they acted competitive in "The Great Gooseberry Chase".
- The Berryworks' forklift appears briefly. It was first used in "Berryworks Commercial", when Strawberry used it to deliver a giant cupcake to her customers.
- The Machine Machine from "Go For The Goldenberry" is among the garbage. Looks like Lemon found enough sparkberries to power it after all.
Error[]
- When the girls are confronted by Lime for their lazy cleaning, the girls nervously laugh. However, their faces don't change to that of a laughing animation.
