Souffle is a character in the Strawberry Shortcake franchise, first introduced in the 1980s Series. He is Angel Cake's pet skunk.
General Information[]
Souffle was originally a skunk who wanted to have friends, but he couldn't make any since he was a skunk. Souffle ended up being all alone. However, he found out that running away from your problems wouldn't help anyone, so he decided to stand up for his own good against those who would put him down. This is what allowed him to help Strawberry Shortcake recover when the Peculiar Purple Pieman hijacks the contest in his favour and falsely accuses her of cheating to ensure his victory. With this, Strawberry Shortcake find courage to the point where she threatens to haunt the pieman with her Berry Talk dialect, which eventually gets him to fess up and admit that Sour Grapes did it. With that, Souffle wins the contest thanks to his sage advice and becomes Angel Cake's pet.
Despite playing a major role in his debut special, Souffle sort of just faded into the background in future appearances, acting as little more than Angel Cake's pet skunk who appeared alongside her.
Souffle would not be brought back for any future generations.
Appearance[]
Souffle the Skunk has lavender fur. A yellow-orange bow ribbon is tied around his neck, and he has a blue ribbon on his tail.
Personality[]
Souffle used to be pessimistic about his problems and just run away from them, but found that trying to flee your problems will only be harmful to you in the long run. This is what got him to "change his ways". He became more optimistic and assertive for what he believed was right.
Trivia[]
- Etymology: Souffle earned his name from a light dish with the same name that is, as mentioned by Angel Cake, is even lighter than angel food cake.
- He used to think that his name was Yowie A. Skunk, since everyone who saw him would shout it in fear.
