Periwinkle is a character introduced in the 2003 series of Strawberry Shortcake. She is a fairy with a brief appearance in the episode Berry Fairy Tales.
Appearance[]
Periwinkle is a fair skinned fairy whose color palette rings true to her name. She has medium length dark blue hair, a blue shirt, two toned blue wings, a light blue skirt, a light and medium blue brimmed hat, blue glasses with rose colored lenses, dark blue shoes with periwinkle flowers, and blue eyes. Her ears are pointed like the other fairies. She's also on the heavier side than some other fairies.
Personality[]
Periwinkle is a very self-centered and entitled fairy, holding her status very near and dear. She is the only one able to speak to the queen directly and won't let you forget it. She is very fond of rules and freaks out if they're broken in any way, be it trying to speak to the queen, bringing outsiders to the fairy land, not bringing the queen a gift on her birthday, you name it. Periwinkle also comes off as impatient and rude, often interrupting people who are trying to explain their actions despite her added skepticism to situations and plans made by Sherry Bobbleberry. She only becomes nicer when instructed by the queen, whom she is very fond of.
Trivia[]
- She is so far the only fairy shown to wear glasses.
- She stumbles over her words and stutters when she's first seen, possibly out of being flustered and dumbfounded.
- Her body type is closer to the human characters than the fairies, who appear much thinner.
- She is one of few antagonistic characters to never be seen changing their ways, as she never apologizes and isn't shown redeeming herself aside from helping with the episode's dam plan, though she only does so under order of the queen.
- She could possibly be a royal herald, as she is someone who brings news to the queen.
