Plot[]
Part 1[]
The episode begins as Strawberry Shortcake sells some food to her customers as she talks with Custard. Later, the Peculiar Purple Pieman visits Strawberry Shortcake's truck with the pretense that he realised that he is in fact horrible and is therefore going to leave the Berryworks due to his inability to compete with her despite his love of baking and pastries. Strawberry Shortcake is depressed by this, so she decides to lift his spirits by proposing that they baked together, even revealing his former position as her idol. This causes him to realise that they could form a partnership, leading him to make a deal with Strawberry Shortcake: if the Pieman improves his baking with her help, then Strawberry Shortcake could get what she wanted. Strawberry Shortcake is surprised when she hears that they would be partners, so the Pieman sings her a song. Strawberry Shortcake considers the proposal that the Pieman made and then signs the contract that he presents.
The next day, Strawberry Shortcake visits the Pie Shop so she and the Pieman can start their business together, but he tells her that she has a stain on her sleeve (without even looking up from the newspaper that he was reading). The Pieman then immediately terminates their partnership, taking this as his opportunity to confiscate Strawberry Shortcake's truck, much to her horror, as this means that she can no longer work at the Berryworks. As she gets booted from his shop, Strawberry Shortcake reveals how dismayed she became that the Pieman lured her into another trap, setting up for the next segment.
Part 2[]
The second part starts as Strawberry Shortcake tells us how she went to Big Apple City and the Peculiar Purple Pieman hired her to be his partner, only to fire her. It then cuts to Strawberry Shortcake's home, where we see her packing up to leave. She is approached by her aunt, who takes her back to the Berryworks for something. Strawberry Shortcake's friends then tell how she really does make the Berryworks better. Strawberry Shortcake protests that she cannot stay without a cart, only to be interrupted by Bread Pudding, who proclaims that Strawberry Shortcake belongs as some more of her friends come by with an oven on a wagon. Strawberry Shortcake is delighted until she hears some noises behind her. When she turns around, she sees that the Peculiar Purple Pieman had not just stolen the truck that she usually works at, but had amalgamated his own designs into it. The Pieman then appears and decrees that Strawberry Shortcake is not just removed from the Berryworks, but is not to approach any Purple Pie Shop. Strawberry Shortcake slaps his hand away, trying to take back her truck, but the Pieman refuses, renaming the truck "Purple Pie on the Fly." Bread Pudding tries to counter with the rules, only for his statement to be shot down. Strawberry Shortcake then confronts the Pieman herself, questioning his motives for ruining her life, and his reason is to crush her spirit so she wouldn't become competition and he would be able to stay famous. As Strawberry Shortcake fumes at this, the Pieman says that he can make his pies as bland as his choice, and as long as nobody else is around as competition, the Pieman keeps his position. Strawberry Shortcake counters by saying that she loves her customers and that the Pieman loves nobody. She renounces her position as a fan of his and says that she now feels bad for him.
Strawberry Shortcake leaves the truck and meets her friends, who ask how her talk with the Pieman went. Strawberry Shortcake claims that she is great, but then claims that every Berry could hear what the Pieman said. Fortunately, it turns out that a microphone was placed in the truck, recording what he said. Lemon turns on the microphones, broadcasting what the Pieman said to the Berryworks. Exiting his truck, the Pieman is confronted by a swarm of angry Berry persons, much to his horror, leading him to deny saying it. The angry mob throws pies in the Pieman's face, causing him to fall onto his back. He flees the scene, and the mob follows his trail, hot on his heels.
After this, Bread Pudding notes the Pieman's vibe to not be on-brand with the Berryworks and terminates the contract him. Strawberry Shortcake is delighted as she got her truck back with her friends' help and is staying. While she doesn't know what she will do next, Strawberry Shortcake is sure that she will have a blast.

Trivia[]
- This is the fifth episode to get split into parts, after Berry In The Big City, Berry Bounty Banquet, Bake Off, and A Berry Perfect Kind of Day.
- The first part is one of the few episodes in the franchise to end badly for the protagonists involved, as Strawberry Shortcake loses the food truck that she was working at to the Peculiar Purple Pieman after she gets dismissed by him, causing Strawberry Shortcake to fear that she can no longer stay in the Berryworks.
- Caramela Éclair, Caramel Tartufo and Kiki Keylime are seen as background characters, but have no lines.
- ”Everything You’ve Ever Wanted” is the first song in “Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City” to be a solo, not counting the speaking parts, with the Peculiar Purple Pieman being the lone singer for the entire song.
- It is also the only song in the series where Strawberry doesn’t have a singing part.
- Bread Pudding’s line about keeping the Berryworks “trending and chic” is a call-back to the very first episode, where he said the same thing to make Strawberry leave. However, this time, he says it to convince her to stay.
