Summary[]
Strawberry Shortcake steps out of her comfort zone and explores everything that Big Apple City has to offer!
Plot[]
Strawberry's alarm rings at 7 AM. She stops the alarm and yells out that it's a new day to Custard, startling her by the sudden announcement. She gets out of bed and runs to get changed. Custard relaxes, beginning to drift off to sleep, and gets scared by Strawberry again as she yells it's time for her to seize the day. Custard tries to go back to sleep again, until Strawberry startles her once more as she almost forgot to say good morning to Custard, petting her before running out of the room again. Custard finally manages to go back to sleep.
Cutaway: Strawberry explains that this is her first weekend in Big Apple City, and she plans to explore the city to see the sights, and take it all in, thinking it's going to be a magical experience.
Strawberry runs out of her apartment and down to the building's door, excited as she opens the door...and is greeted by the loud sounds of construction noises, honking cars, and yelling citygoers. Overwhelmed, Strawberry slams the door shut, taking several deep breaths.
Cutaway: Strawberry decides against going outside today.
Strawberry re-enters the apartment, slouching. Aunt Praline asks her niece what happened to the idea of going outside and seeing the city. Strawberry tells her that the city is a bit too "big" for her and she decided to stay home today. In response, Praline hands a basket of muffins to Strawberry and discourages her from this. She tells Strawberry that the city may seem scary and big, but she just has to get to know it, and let the city get to know her. She pushes Strawberry out of the apartment and tells her that Big Apple City is not an ordinary city, but she is no ordinary berry, encouraging her niece to go out and show it what she's got, and closes the door once Strawberry leaves. Praline looks back at her coffee to see Custard drinking it, staring at her in silent judgment.
Strawberry once again approaches the building's door and takes a deep breath, She opens the door and steps out, almost getting startled by a small crowd of berries suddenly running past her. She takes another deep breath as she walks down the steps and starts singing No Ordinary Berry. The song is about her being nervous as she makes a fresh start in a city that she barely knows, nervous at the prospect of the new place. But she doesn't plan on giving up and gets ready to explore the city and see what it has to offer. On her journey across the city, she interacts with many berries along the way, buying a hot dog from a vendor but is overwhelmed by how spicy it is, participating in a meditation class in the park, and passing muffins to other berries she comes across. She gets on a bus to Times Pear as she sings the final verse of the song, joined by some of the berries she met acting as backup dancers. They toss her into the air and she lands in the middle of Times Pear. The camera orbits around her showing off the city around her, as she finishes the song, she tosses her beanie into the air, now excited to stay in Big Apple City, and ready to show it what she's got.

- The episode features the full version of the song that Strawberry briefly sung in the first episode before she was interrupted.
- Some of the sneak peak images are from this episode. Such as billboards of Crabapple Jam, Kiki KeyLime and Purple Pieman, the bus scene, and a few more.
- As briefly seen from the interior and exterior shots of the entrance for Aunt Praline and Strawberry's apartment, the walls in the lobby are two separate colors, with beige on the walls connected to the stairs, and the back walls being blue.
- This episode briefly establishes Strawberry's low spice tolerance, as shown from her being overwhelmed by the spicy hot dog that the vendor gave her.
- Vincent Tong provides brief voice work in this episode as two of the background characters, several episodes before he would get to perform his primary role as Huckleberry Pie.

- The song's title, "No Ordinary Berry", is a reference to the 2003 series theme song, specifically the line "She's so buh-buh-buh-berry, extraor-di-di-di-dinary". Essentially meaning the same thing, that Strawberry is more than just an ordinary girl, and she's ready for adventure wherever she goes.
