Keylime Time is the 25th episode of the first season of Strawberry Shortcake: Berry In The Big City. It premieres on March 12th, 2022.
Summary[]
Strawberry Shortcake bakes up a special treat hoping to impress one of her idols, Kiki KeyLime, the star of “Bite in the City.”
Plot[]
The episode begins with Strawberry Shortcake mixing a bowl while watching the latest episode of Bite of the City. Kiki KeyLime, the host, says it's fitting that she's currently at the Cumin-Thyme Museum of Modern Art, as she prepares to show off the dishes of the contestants.
Cutaway: Strawberry says she loves Bite of the City, explaining that Kiki KeyLime travels around Big Apple City to find the best bakers. She asks if there could be a more perfect show for her.
Kiki KeyLime shows off the cupcakes made and compliments them, saying that the contestants proved that a great baker needs to be a great artist as well. Strawberry agrees with Kiki and says that she gets her. Kiki closes off the episode by telling the audience that she can't wait to come to their neighborhood to take a "Bite of the City". Strawberry sighs in contentment as she continues mixing the bowl. She then hears Kiki ask if there's a baker in there, to which Strawberry answers that there really is. Kiki then tells Strawberry she's actually behind her, snapping Strawberry out of her current state. She turns around to see Kiki KeyLime standing at her food truck, barely managing to stammer out that she's a fan of Kiki before falling to the floor in excitement. Kiki notes that she gets that reaction a lot, and explains she's in a rush to her next shoot and needs a quick snack, asking Strawberry what she's currently selling.
Cutaway: Strawberry tries to calm down and reassure herself that she can do this.
Strawberry nervously tells Kiki that she serving ladyfingers today, which Kiki finds delightful as she loves ladyfingers. Kiki then asks for the addition of organic hand-pressed key lime juice, Costa Rican coffee with beans that have been sung to, and a dollop of mascarpone cheese. Strawberry stares at Kiki, before telling her idol that she just needs to quickly get some ingredients. One of Kiki's assistants whispers to Kiki, who then informs Strawberry that she only has two minutes and thirty-six seconds before she has to leave. Strawberry tells Custard she's in charge and bolts out of her truck.
Strawberry runs up to the Citrus Slice smoothie cart and asks Orange Blossom if she has any key limes. Orange tells her that she only has normal limes. Strawberry accepts it and asks her to juice it, which Orange happily obliges as she begins to put the lime in the blender. Strawberry stops her and asks to hand-juice it, which Orange confusedly obliges, squeezing the lime juice into a cup. Strawberry immediately grabs the cup, thanks Orange, says she owes her a cake, and runs off.
Cutaway: Orange says that sometimes it's easier to not ask.
Strawberry rushes over to the LemonLime Time cart, where she asks Lemon Meringue & Lime Chiffon if they have Costa Rican coffee beans that have been sung to. Lime, confused, asks why she would need to sing to coffee beans. Strawberry yells that there's no time to ask crazy questions.
Cutaway: Lime repeats her question, asking who would sing to beans... because everyberry knows you should read to them. She begins reading to the beans-
Strawberry shoves Lime's cutaway away, yelling that there's no time. She asks Lemon for coffee beans, who tosses her some from her pockets. Strawberry rushes to Huckleberry Pie and asks him to sing to the beans. Huck confusedly obliges, barely managing to sing a verse before Strawberry says that'll do it. She tells her friends that she owes them all pies and runs off. Lemon asks her friends if they agree that what just happened was weird.
Strawberry runs up to the Dreamery Creamery, but before she could say anything Blueberry Muffin stops her, as The Universe already told her to prepare mascarpone ice cream for Strawberry. Strawberry asks how Blueberry knew before being hushed and told that she must go. Strawberry mumbles that she owes Blueberry some cookies and runs off.
Strawberry runs back to the Extraordinary Berry with the ingredients. She whispers to her lucky spoon to not fail her now, and quickly puts together a dessert. Kiki walks up to the truck and Strawberry presents the dessert to her. Kiki inspects the dish for a while before trying it. She immediately identifies it as deconstructed tiramisu and is delighted at how delicious it is. She poses with it while one of her assistants takes pictures and the other writes something down. Kiki takes note of the Extraordinary Berry, and says she'll remember it as she leaves for her next shoot.
Strawberry, overjoyed, hugs Custard and celebrates impressing Kiki, prepared to relax and bask in the glow of the flantastic moment. Her friends then interrupt her, Lemon asks if Strawberry forgot something. Huckleberry chimes in, reminding her about the pies. Strawberry adds that she'll do that after she bakes her friends their thank-you desserts. The Berry Besties all laugh together, ending the episode.

- This episode technically has the shortest song in the series with Huck's song to the coffee beans, which only consists of five words.
- The episode title, "Keylime Time", might be a pun on "key lime pie".
