Johnnycake Cobbler is a minor villain in Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City. He makes several appearances in the series playing an antagonistic role in Johnnycake Cobbler's Sensational Sweetening Spritz, Strawberry Shortcake and the Beast of Berry Bog, and Strawberry Shortcake’s Perfect Holiday.
Appearance[]
Johnnycake Cobbler has curly orange slicked back hair, blue eyes, and square shaped facial hair. He also has notable sideburns and a potbelly sticking out. He wears a large chef hat with green and red gems on it which can resemble rock candy. He wears yellow epaulets and a long green and purple striped coat over a white shirt with a yellow waistcoat, an orange ascot, and black pants. His coat's collar matches his chef hat and his shoes are white and purple dress shoes. It's worth noting that the top of his head is bald which he hides with his hat. He also carries a vintage, custom-made, golden rolling pin with an argyle pattern of red and green on the cylinder, and thin handles with the gems like his hat and coat's collar whenever he's promoting his products.
Personality[]
Being a scam artist he's clearly fine with lying and taking advantage of people. He does appear to be less confident with some lies than others though (noted when Strawberry asks him his favorite place in Berryville). He has a lot of charisma and speaks in rhymes a lot, though is also shown to be easily annoyed when someone questions him or his products.
Trivia[]
- Originally Michael Vogel didn't want anymore new characters for Season 1, after Shannon McClung shared his idea of a new character (Johnny) he was added in. [1]
- Johnnycake cobblers are in fact a real baked dish, and are traditionally a cornmeal-based flatbread with various fruit filling.
- He is the first new villain in the franchise since Licorice Whip to not be a pre-existing character.
