Ice Cream Trouble is the 37th episode of the first season of Strawberry Shortcake: Berry In The Big City. It premiered on May 21st, 2022.
Summary[]
The Dreamery Creamery malfunctions, but Blueberry Muffin is always able to find the silver-lining to any problem.
Plot[]
The episode begins with a hot day at the Berryworks.
Cutaway: Strawberry Shortcake explains that Big Apple City is in a full-on heatwave and say it's hot. She then rhetorically asks how hot it is.
Strawberry places a tray of two freshly-baked pastries on her counter. The pastries immediately burst into flames and burn to a crisp. Strawberry facepalms, and decides that she needs to cool off.
Strawberry heads over to the Dreamery Creamery ice cream cart, where Blueberry Muffin greets her. Blueberry asks Strawberry if she's interested in an upside-down ice cream cone, referring to it as the "Topsy Turvy Scoop". Strawberry tells Blueberry that as long as it's cold, count her in. Blueberry goes to get one, when suddenly the Dreamery Creamery malfunctions and the freezer breaks down. Strawberry begins worrying, especially since the ice cream will melt, but Blueberry says it'll be fine. Strawberry asks how Blueberry could be so calm about this, and Blueberry points out that she's friends with The Universe. Strawberry is confused, and Blueberry reiterates what she just said.
Cutaway: Blueberry Muffin explains that her and The Universe have been friends for as long as she can remember. She questions why she should be worried when she knows The Universe is always watching.
Strawberry reiterates the situation to Blueberry, that her freezer is broken and her ice cream is melting, but she isn't doing anything because...The Universe? Blueberry declares that she is going to do something, which Strawberry is relieved by... until Blueberry simply pulls out a meditation pillow, sits on it, and asks The Universe to send her guidance.
Cutaway: Strawberry says that she may not be friends with The Universe, but luckily, she does have a friend who can help, winking at the audience.
Strawberry pushes Lemon Meringue over to Blueberry. Lemon asks if someberry has a broken freezer, and Blueberry is glad that she could count on her buddy, her pal, The Universe.
Cutaway: Strawberry Shortcake looks at the viewer, mildly annoyed.
Lemon shows off her first invention, Ice-cubot, a tiny robot with an ice cube head which projects waves of cold air wherever he goes, and places him near the ice cream. Blueberry and Strawberry think he's adorable. Ice-cubot's ice cube then melts, and he malfunctions, exploding in Lemon Meringue's face, who notes that he works as long as he doesn't get too hot. Lemon leaves to get Plan B, and Blueberry, concerned, asks The Universe for reassurance that everything will be okay.
Lemon Meringue shows off her second invention, the Fan-tasy 800, an industrial fan which attaches to the side of Blueberry's freezer to blast cool air. Lemon activates it, and it begins blowing everything away, including Strawberry, Blueberry (who simply floats away whilst meditating), and even the Dreamery Creamery. Cheesecake quickly scrambles to the power socket and unplugs the fan, causing everything to drop to the ground. Strawberry Shortcake walks back over, disgruntled, her hair poofed up from the air. Lemon leaves to get Plan C, and Blueberry, even more concerned, asks The Universe to help her any time now.
Lemon shows off her final invention, the Mecha Sparkberry Turbo Cooler, a giant air conditioner that she needed a forklift to bring it. She declares that it will freeze everything in the Berryworks, including Blueberry's freezer, and activates it. The Berryworks begins to get covered in snow, when the Turbo Cooler ironically begins overheating. Strawberry asks if it's supposed to do that, and Lemon says it isn't, putting on her goggles as the Turbo Cooler explodes.
Cheesecake gets Blueberry Muffin's attention, who sees that the ice cream has all melted. Blueberry, distraught, falls to her knees and shouts The Universe's "name". She sadly thinks that they aren't the friends she thought they were, and Strawberry Shortcake tries to console her. Blueberry tells Strawberry to not be sorry since they're not the ones who let her down, and begins voicing her anger at The Universe, when Lemon suddenly interrupts her by pointing out the melted ice cream is kind of like soup. Blueberry tries it and is immediately struck with inspiration. She forgives The Universe, which Strawberry is confused by, asking if The Universe wanted Blueberry's ice cream to melt. Blueberry confirms, calling The Universe wise. Blueberry then asks Strawberry if she could make waffle bowls.
Cutaway: Blueberry Muffin says that The Universe is like any friend, sometimes they see things differently, and that's when you have to really listen and trust they're looking out for you.
Blueberry serves a bowl of ice cream soup to a customer, which has proven to be popular enough that a long line has formed for the Dreamery Creamery. Blueberry thanks The Universe. Lemon decides she can't argue with The Universe, since the ice cream soup is good. Strawberry decides to roll with it as they continue eating their soup, ending the episode.
