Hooray for Berrywood
Hooray for Berrywood is the seventeenth episode of Strawberry Shortcake and it aired September 10, 2008. It is also the final episode of the 2003 series.
Summary[]
Strawberry Shortcake's childhood friend, Lime Light, has hit it big in Berrywood, the movie capital of Strawberryland. Unfortunately, she's become a bit of a diva in the process.
Plot[]
The episode starts with Strawberry Shortcake pretending to be a celebrity. Custard walks up to her and asks her what she's doing. Strawberry explains that she is a celebrity walking on the red carpet at the premiere of her new movie and all of her fans are there, too, who want a picture. She then explains that it's fun to pretend. Custard agrees and replies that it's also fun to eat, then reminds Strawberry that it's her lunchtime. Strawberry agrees and reassures her cat that she'll get to it, which reliefs Custard. Lemon Meringue's voice calls out urgently, "Strawberry! Strawberry!! Strawberry Shortcake!!!" Strawberry recognizes Lemon's voice and wonders what she wanted. Custard decides that it could wait until after lunch. Strawberry sets Custard's lunch down gently for Custard to eat, then the door bursts open to reveal Lemon Meringue holding a "Best-Ever" movie magazine. She shows Strawberry Shortcake the picture on the cover of the magazine. The picture shows Strawberry Shortcake's bestest-fantabulousest-all-time-best-ever childhood friend Lime Light. Strawberry explains to Lemon, Custard and Pupcake that she used to know Lime Light when she was a berry, berry little girl. Lemon Meringue reads that Lime Light is from Strawberryland, almost about the same age as Strawberry and that she's starring in a brand new movie called "High Seas Romance". Strawberry is amazed and explains that she didn't know that Lime Light was an actress. Lemon explains that she's afraid that it's not too totally wonderful. She reads, "Lime Light's newest movie, 'High Seas Romance', is not sailing smoothly. The director tells that there have been many, many, many problems, and the film is far, far, far behind schedule. If things don't get better, the movie will have to shut down." Strawberry is concerned and hoped that everything turns up okay for Lime's sake. Lemon agrees and explains that there's one thing to be totally sure: going to Berrywood and find out what is wrong with the movie. She also explains that Ginger Snap and Orange Blossom would probably want to join them. Strawberry is nervously backing up a little as she disagrees doubtfully. Lemon asks her if she would want her friends to come help her if she was in trouble. Strawberry thinks about it, then Lemon Meringue explains that she owes it to her best-ever childhood friend Lime Light. Strawberry starts to think about it when Lemon leaps up, excitedly explaining that she'd tell the others to get ready. She runs toward the door, saying, "We're going to Berrywood!" Strawberry is surprised when she realizes that Lemon literally said it. Lemon says in a singsong voice, "We're gonna go to Berrywood! Woo-hoo!" Strawberry Shortcake finally gives in and decides that she and her friends were going to Berrywood. During the car ride to Berrywood, Ginger Snap asks Strawberry how long it’s been since she saw Lime Light, and Strawberry explains that it started when she was berry young. She explains that there was a new kid in the nursery and her name was Lime Light. Little Strawberry Shortcake was playing with blocks when little Lime Light explains she wants one of the bottom blocks. Little Strawberry was a little doubtful, but gives one of the blocks to Lime, and suddenly the whole tower of blocks falls over. Orange Blossom asks Strawberry if it was nice of Lime at first. Strawberry explains that it wasn’t at first, but explains that they became really good friends after that. They played every summer day. Then, Strawberry explains that it wasn’t long before Lime Light had to move away, and it was one of the saddest days that she could remember and it was also the last time she ever saw her, at least until Lemon Meringue showed her the magazine and that now she couldn’t wait to see her again.
