"Strawberry, my fritter's different today." -- Honeydew Sorbet complains about her fritter not having a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Honeydew Sorbet is a character in Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City. The character makes her first speaking appearance in the episode "The Great Gooseberry Chase" in Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in The Big City but has made minor appearances in prior episodes. She later appears with minor appearances before being given an antagonistic role in Adventures in Berrysitting where Strawberry Shortcake and Lime Chiffon try to babysit her whilst Mrs. Crumbcake is away skydiving.
Description[]
Honeydew Sorbet is the young granddaughter of Mrs. Crumbcake. Due to her being very young, she speaks in simple sentences and can’t pronounce her “R”s.
Personality[]
Honeydew Sorbet is very cute and sweet, though she appears a little shy at first hiding behind her grandmother when Strawberry Shortcake and Orange Blossom meet them at their house. She likes gooseberries, and her favorite thing to order from Strawberry is apple fritters, on which she specifically likes a sprinkle of cinnamon. In a recent episode we see a new side to her which is much more chaotic, erratic, emotional, and destructive. She's very difficult to control and doesn't see the consequences of her actions, expected for a toddler like her. She only seems to act this way when away from her grandma and only gets calmed down by Blueberry Muffin and Huckleberry Pie singing and dancing to her.
Appearance[]
Honeydew is a very short girl who has brown skin, lime green eyes, and light orange hair in a bob with blunt bangs. She wears an oversized green sweater that can hide her hands. She wears orange shoes matching her hair color. When she gets overly excited and wild her hair becomes messy.
Appearances[]
Aside from the intro, Honeydew Sorbet appears in these episodes:
- Lemon's Explosive Oven: Honeydew Sorbet makes her in-series debut here, though her name is still obscured. Honeydew and her grandmother are waiting for their order at Strawberry Shortcake's food truck.
- The Great Gooseberry Chase: Honeydew makes her first speaking appearance here, where she is given gooseberries by Mrs. Crumbcake who is making juice for her. Upon their discovery of this, Strawberry Shortcake and Orange Blossom decide to look for elderberries as a substitute.
- Robot Strawberry: This shows Honeydew ordering an apple fritter, but she takes offense to the fact that her fritter does not have the dash of cinnamon that she likes.
- Traffic Jam: Honeydew Sorbet is seen when Blueberry Muffin tries to give her ice cream to Huckleberry Pie, who is getting hungry. Honeydew Sorbet is excited when she sees the ice cream. Intrigued, Blueberry Muffin heads to the car that Honeydew Sorbet is in with the intent of giving the ice cream to her, giving it to Mrs. Crumbcake so that the latter can complete the delivery. Honeydew steals the cone anyway and devours the ice cream.
- Adventures in Berrysitting: Here, Honeydew Sorbet is babysat by Strawberry Shortcake, but takes an antagonistic role where she develops a chaotic, crazy side that is out of control, eventually getting calmed down by Blueberry Muffin and Huckleberry Pie, the latter of whom is playing music.
- LemonLime Back in Time: Honeydew Sorbet makes a cameo here, where she listens to music on a portable audio cassette player as a man wearing green walks by with a radio held over one of his shoulders.
- Parking Problems: When Strawberry Shortcake finds that the spot that she is parked in is now cooler thanks to Lemon Tort & Lime Tart's food truck so she invites others to her truck to cool off, Honeydew Sorbet is one of the customers who shows up.
- Strawberry Shortcake's Spring Spectacular: When the overgrown vines (created from Plum Pudding's Fast Floral Formula mixed with the Peculiar Purple Pie man's pie filling) reach the berry works, Honeydew Sorbet makes a brief appearance screaming in shock/fear at the vines. In the film, Honeydew Sorbet's sweater has a different design and is lacking her hairpin.
