Summary[]
The Peculiar Purple Pie Man wants to destroy the city’s community garden to expand his empire. Strawberry and friends help stand against him!
Plot[]
Purple Pieman shows his proposal of turning a desolate plot of land into a storage facility to Aunt Praline and she makes a disapproving groan.
Cutaway: Strawberry Shortcake talks about her aunt's job about approving project proposals and scorns over the Peculiar Purple proposals that her aunt also has to review.
Pieman states his reasons why the project should be approved and calls the plot of land an eyesore until a young girl yells out to the two with a megaphone informing him that the eyesore he's referring to is her "Lean Green Garden" and is enraged about his plans to demolish the garden. She tries to get others to join in her protest but everyone instead just back off and watches. Praline gets disappointed after hearing about this and Pieman tries to tell her that nobody will miss that garden and goes back to his store.
The girl continues to protest outside the store and catches Strawberry's attention. She introduces her to her and the girl introduces herself as Granola Crunch and is the only gardener of the Lean Green Garden. She suddenly continues to protest which surprises Strawberry. She asks her aunt if there's any way to stop Pieman from demolishing the garden and Praline tells her that Granola needs to provide proof that the garden can bring a service to the community before the weekend ends then she can stop construction, Praline gets another appointment and leaves to attend it. Strawberry asks Granola if she could see her garden and Granola happily accepts, for the audience to see a run down looking garden filled with rodents and insects. Strawberry, astounded by how it looks is also enthusiastic to help Granola with her garden with her friends.
As Strawberry and her friends started working with her, they encountered some conflicts, from putting leaves into compost bin instead of a regular one, to using "energy efficient" tools and being picky when it came to the seeds and told Blueberry Muffin to use drought resistant fruit seeds only. Strawberry starts to see the problem and approaches Granola to confront her about it, she advices her to let the community help her if the garden is supposed to be a service for the community. Granola expresses her worries as she wants everything to be done the right way and Strawberry encourages her to show her what to do instead of letting her do everything on her own. She and her friends started working on revamping the Lean Green Garden and the park gains traction.
Granola is amazed by the results and notices Pieman approach the garden on top of a bulldozer, he gets appalled by what he say at the garden and Granola tells him that what he's looking at is a revamped, Lean Green Community Garden. He gets infuriated and demands her and Strawberry to get off the property. Praline informs him that she recently got off the phone from the mayor and tells him to relocate somewhere else for his storage facility. Everyone is happy that the garden is no longer threatened to get demolished. The episode ends with Pieman protesting for the garden to be shut down for his storage facility.
