Genoise La Creme is a character from Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City. She is a famous food critic who could end up breaking or making your baking career with her criticism. She has appeared in the background numerous times in previous episodes before making her speaking debut in Waiting for Genoise.
Appearance[]
She has a pale complexion with a dark grey bun and dark blue eyes. She wears a purple long sleeved top, bright purple slit dress with black long pants underneath, dark purple flats, green earrings and temple less glasses.
Personality[]
Genoise is a cold, a bit expressionless and quiet. She is well known for her harsh critiques and being hard to please, with many of her reviews being implied to have ended careers entirely.
However, Genoise has been shown to be impressed or outright loving food she reviews. In “Waiting for Genoise” and “The Case of the Missing Spoon“, Genoise gives Strawberry’s baking extremely positive reviews.

- Etymology: Genoise’s name is derived from genoise, a French sponge cake.
- Despite having a reputation for giving career-ending critiques and being hard to please, Genoise has never been shown giving a negative review onscreen.
- The newspaper Genoise works for, “The Big Apple City Galette”, is a play on the real life “New York Gazette” newspaper, and “galette”, a type of French crusty cake.
