Everyberry Needs Someberry Sometimes (Originally titled "Strawberry is Sick!") is the 28th episode of the first season of Strawberry Shortcake: Berry In The Big City. It premiered on March 19th, 2022.
Summary[]
Strawberry Shortcake has a serious case of the sniffles, so her friends step up to help her bake for a charity bake sale.
Plot[]
Strawberry Shortcake sneezes loudly in her truck, catching the attention of several nearby Berryworks patrons.
Cutaway: Strawberry exclaims that she can't be sick. Strawberry explains that she has to bake five hundred cupcakes for Sweetie Pie Preschool's annual bake sale to be ready by 5 o'clock today.
Strawberry sneezes while carrying an egg carton, causing her face to smash into the carton and break all the eggs. Lemon Meringue tells Strawberry that she looks terrible, and Lime Chiffon tells her to rest. Strawberry tells her friends that she can't since she still needs the cupcakes done, adding that it's for the kids. Blueberry Muffin gets an idea, and offers to help by suggesting they bake the cupcakes for her, Orange Blossom agrees and tells Strawberry that everyberry needs someberry sometimes. Strawberry is unsure if that's a good idea, when she suddenly feels a sneeze coming. She tries to hold it in, seemingly succeeding, before sneezing so hard it launches her out of her truck.
Strawberry relents and pulls out a chalkboard to explain to her friends what their tasks are, Orange mixes the dry ingredients, Lemon combines the wet ingredients, when she gets to Blueberry, Blueberry interrupts by admiring the stick drawing of her, telling Strawberry she captured her aura. Strawberry is unsure of how to respond, while Orange reassures her that they've got the situation under control as she leads her over to the door. Strawberry says she's going to rest in the clubhouse and to text her if they need help, adding that an extra large egg is better than a regular large egg before leaving. Orange tells the Berry Besties that it's time to help make their sweet, but easily stressed out, friend proud (referring to Strawberry) which they all agree to... except for Blueberry, who's still admiring her stick figure drawing. Orange tells her to focus, but Blueberry misunderstands and thinks the drawing said her name.
Lime figures that if she uses the best methods from each recipe book, she'll make the perfect cupcakes. The first book says to use cold butter, but then Lime sees that the other book says to use room-temperature butter. Lime becomes conflicted between which butter to use and ends up having a nervous breakdown.
Custard places a cooling pad on Strawberry's forehead as she relaxes on the couch in the clubhouse.
Blueberry tears up a recipe list, saying that she doesn't need recipes or rules, just vibing to Egg Sheeran's music. Meanwhile, Orange takes note of the recipe saying to use five cups of sugar, pointing out how unhealthy it is. She decides to use no sugar and substitutes veggie powder for extra nutrients. Orange tries it and immediately regrets her decision, attempting to convince herself it's delicious and healthy.
Custard places a pillow on the couch, but Strawberry declines, saying that she's not tired as her cat pushes her head to the pillow. Strawberry immediately falls asleep, and time passes as Strawberry naps around the clubhouse.
Lemon tries to frost the cupcakes she and the Berry Besties managed to bake, but immediately finds the process tedious and boring. She decides to take a different course of action, grabbing her Super Duper Piping Bag 3000 (she never leaves home without it) and aims it at the cupcakes. The recoil ends up causing her to spray the frosting everywhere, covering the screen to transition to the next scene.
Strawberry exits the clubhouse, no longer sick and feeling much better. She tells Custard she's glad to have friends that can be there for her, keep her calm, relaxed, and frEAKING OUT as she enters the Extraordinary Berry to see the mess her friends caused. Blueberry is painting the wall with her face, calling her art piece "The Unbearable Icing of Being. Orange is struggling with if she should continue adding the veggie powder. Lime is curled into a ball, mumbling that she never made it past the butter. Strawberry freaks out, as she has to deliver the five hundred cupcakes now, but nothing is done. Orange apologizes, telling Strawberry that they tried but they aren't bakers like her. Strawberry is still aghast at how any of this even happened, complaining to her friends that they just did whatever they wanted...and immediately gets an idea, calling her friends geniuses. Everyberry is confused, Orange asks if they are, and Lemon asks if Strawberry is still hallucinating.
Later, the Berry Besties look on at Strawberry's new Build-Your-Own-Cupcake stand she set up for Sweetie Pie Preschool, Strawberry noting that it's a huge success. Strawberry sarcastically thanks her friends for giving her the idea by messing up so badly and being terrible bakers, and then genuinely thanks them for helping her when she needed it. Lemon accepts the thank-you, as she aims her Super Duper Piping Bag 3000 at the undecorated cupcake Lime is holding. Strawberry tries to stop her, but Lemon ends up firing the gadget, engulfing the Berryworks in a giant pile of frosting. The Berry Besties laugh it off, and Lemon says she meant to do that.

- Strawberry fell asleep at around 2:05. If one keeps track of the clock, she slept until around 4:15.
