Cola is a character from the 2003 adaptation of Strawberry Shortcake. He is Peppermint Fizz's pet chameleon (though he was called a "lizard" by Huckleberry Pie and Custard.) He is Peppermint's first pet, the other she owns is Cherry Vanilla. The character's design is based on Jeff Kinney's online avatars. The character is named after a soda drink brand.
Description[]
Physical Appearance[]
When he isn't changing color, Cola has brown scales from head to toe and a red and white peppermint-patterned stomach. When he goes on stage to sing during the events of Peppermint's Pet Peeve, he dons a purple coat and adds bluish black hair and a mustache of the same color.
Abilities[]
Like our average everyday chameleon, Cola can change his color. This helps him blend in with his surroundings.
Role[]
Cola made his first introduction in Peppermint's Pet Peeve, where Peppermint Fizz enrolls him into the pets' talent show. She inquires that Cola obstructs the rest of the pets in order to win. Cola then makes his appearance on stage singing a Sinatra-style made-up song. Pupcake reveals that Cola was actually lip-syncing by rolling on and chewing on the electric rope to the tape recorder, causing the song to distort. Cola is later seen playing with the rest of the pets when he hears Strawberry Shortcake's song, after which his master realizes that she was wrong. Peppermint sings and dances with Cola while singing about how she liked him. He appears in Win Some, Lose Some and assists Peppermint with her cheating. He is in the audience of the Cinderella play in The Play's the Thing. He accidentally falls asleep but then Vanilla Icing slaps him awake and she snickers with a mean grin.
