"Oh yeah, it can!"

"I got the tokens! Give me my pies!"
-- Caramela Éclair demands that the Peculiar Purple Pieman carries his end of his deal in Mission Unfrostable.
Caramela Éclair is a supporting character in Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City. She is the daugher of Fruitleg Alley's crumbfather, Caramel Tartufo, and works for him as an enforcer.
General Information[]
Caramela Éclair is the daughter of Caramel Tartufo, the crumbfather of Fruitleg Alley. She helps her father run the underground black market, escorting new buyers and watching the door. After her debut episode, she becomes a friend to Strawberry Shortcake, and will occasionally help her or her friends get an ingredient they need through Fruitleg Alley.
She has a very heavy New Jersey accent.
Personality[]
Caramela is very cold and straightforward to newcomers in Fruitleg Alley, and won't hesitate to cheat clients out of a deal the first chance she gets. She will occasionally exploit her father's reputation to get what she wants, like when she threatened the Pieman in Mission Unfrostable. If a client manages to win over Caramel Tartufo, Caramela is more welcoming towards them, and will help them avoid getting swindled. Sometimes Caramela Éclair has a bit of a spoiled attitude, like when she threw a tantrum during The Big Apple City All-Skate Competition because she suddenly wanted to play the bagpipes rather than compete.
Caramela has a much softer side to her than she first lets on, forming a genuine friendship with Strawberry Shortcake, and loving her father. She also holds her late grandmother in high regard.
Outside of Fruitleg Alley, Caramela shows rather mundane interests, like casual rollerskating at Starfruit Express, Winterswirl caroling, bagpipes, and playing checkers.
Appearance[]
Caramela Éclair has brown eyes and brown and dark grey hair tied in a ponytail, golden hoop-style earrings and a golden necklace. She has a light tan-colored jacket with leopard spots, a red dress, black or very dark grey tights/leggings/pants, and brown boots.
Appearances[]
- Debut episode: Fruitleg Alley (episode) -- Caramela is first seen when Strawberry Shortcake, Raspberry Tart, Huckleberry Pie, and Orange Blossom head to a gate. When Huckleberry Pie knocks on the door, she opens a peephole and demands the password. Huckleberry Pie calls her by name (bugging her in the process) and introduces her and the gang. Caramela then asks why the girls want to go to Fruitleg Alley, and they explain that they need soursops, which are out of season at the time of the episode. Although she slams the door in his face and leads the other girls through the gate without him, Huckleberry Pie says that Caramela is nice. She then leads the girls to her father, who has some soursops for the sponge cake that Strawberry Shortcake wants to make. After her father initially shuts down Fruitleg Alley out of anger over no one correctly baking his mother's banana bread recipe, Strawberry Shortcake offers to do it herself without asking for anything in return, confusing Caramela and her father. Upon tasting Strawberry's banana bread, Caramel is overjoyed and gladly gifts her the soursops, along with allowing her and her friends access to Fruitleg Alley as his honored guests. Caramela then stops some thieves from stealing the parts of Strawberry Shortcake's food truck and warns Orange Blossom and Raspberry Tart that Strawberry Shortcake can be too trusting.
- Mission Unfrostable -- When the Peculiar Purple Pieman announces his (fake) grand prize for those who find some tokens in his pies, Strawberry Shortcake finds that it is just a scam. She and the other Berries swipe the tokens and gifts them to Caramela Éclair. When she comes to his pie shop, Caramela demands that the Pieman carries his end of the deal.
- Let The Good TImes Roll -- Is briefly seen rollerskating with her father, Caramel Tartufo.
- Custard's Big Adventure -- Plays checkers with Custard over a pack of olallieberries, but loses. She hands the berries to Custard, and asks the cat to tell Strawberry she said hi.
- The Great Roller Rink Rivalry -- Is briefly seen rollerskating with Bread Pudding.
- Go With The Flow -- Seen applauding Strawberry Shortcake, Orange Blossom, and Blueberry Muffin's rollerskating near the end of the episode.
- A Holiday Your Way -- Among a group of carolers during the song.
- The Big Apple City All-Skate Competition -- One of several contestants in the competition. During her routine, she yells at her father that she doesn't want to rollerskate, and wants to play the bagpipes. Later in the episode, during the Berrycake Blossom's routine, their song briefly switches to bagpipes, which prompts Caramela to jump in and play along.
- Bake The World A Better Place: Is seen amongst the customers at the Berry Besties’ new food truck setup.
