Boysenberry Mousse is a minor antagonist in Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City. He serves as the main antagonist of the Strawberry Shortcake's Summer Vacation special and is a rich businessman who dam up the river in Berryvile to get the other farms to sell their land to him in order to expand his own business.
History[]
Boysenberry grew up in Berryvile on a farm up a hill. He moves to the Big City to jump-start his career and becomes a rich, successful businessperson. But it greatly changes his character, he turned snooty and self entitled as a result of his success which greatly worried and irritated everyone who knew him.
In the Strawberry Shortcake's Summer Vacation, Strawberry Shortcake learns during her vacation to Berryvile that he dammed up the town's river, which is the main water source, so that the farms are forced to sell their land to him for his own properties and entertainment services to be built over them. Which also affects her family's farm. Sometime when the Berry Besties found a clue to the Berry Guardian's Treasure, it is revealed that he does not have enough money and plans to spy on the group and the family to find anything bad about them to convince the other farms to sell their land, only to overhear that the Berry Besties plus Pineapple Cobbler and Apple Dumpling has found the cave to the Berry Guardian's Burried Treasure and follows and secretly follows them for the treasure.
After the first trial he runs past them into the second trial, where he accidentally triggers the trial and many of his actions causes minor hindrances throughout the trials he end up participating in. Then when everyone crossed the bridge for the final trial, he disregards the instructions given and opens the remaining unopened chests, causing the cave to collapse on itself. He throws away the treasures as he saw them as kitchen utensils and escapes. Shortly after everyone manages to escape, he demeans the rest of the group and the ground rumbles as the rest of the cave collapses underneath, which also toppled some large boulders which ended up destroying Boysenberry's dam, saving the river, Strawberry's family farm and the other farms in Berryvile.
Appearance[]
Boysenberry stands tall, close to the height of an average adult in the series with a pale complexion and silver-blue eyes. He has three hair colors, the white parts of his hair is gelled up with an undercut that is horizontally split in a lavender and dark purple color. He wears a pink and gold vertical striped vest with two gold buttons on it over a white dress shirt and a purple jacket with rolled up sleeves. He also sports long white pant with lavender colored side stripes and a pair of Hot Cross Trainers, which is a purple colored sneakers with dark purple soles and a gold trim on top of it. The sneaker's tongue, shoelaces and straps are colored white and there is a purple button on the shoe's tongue. His accessory wear consists of white glasses and a single Black Bluetooth earphone on his left ear.
Midway around the special, he switches his shoes to a pair of "Sneaking Sneaks". The sneakers are the same model as his Hot Cross Trainers but differently textured, the sneakers have a base of green, blue and purple with yellow soles, straps and shoe tongue. On his shoe tongue, the button is colored gold and his shoelaces are grey.
Personality[]
It is mentioned a handful of times on the Summer Vacation special that he has greatly changed after he moved to the city and that he acted different in the past. But nothing was heard about how he used to act. After he becomes successful with his career, Boysenberry acquired modern slang in his speech and became very egotistical. He has his interests so high up he was willing to endanger the careers of many farms just for land in Berryvile and caused the Berry Guardian Cave to collapse as he didn't follow the rules and wanted all the treasure to himself, only to toss them away as he found them "worthless". He heavily relies on Parsley, an AI assistant on his phone to do tasks for him which often gives him the wrong results.

Strawberry Shortcake[]
Unlike the others, Strawberry was a lot nicer towards Boysenberry, even if he didn't show any of that kindness back. During the last trial, when everyone has crossed the bridge, the two had a moment when he disregarded the instructions telling them to only open one chest and opens all the chests, throwing the treasures away to a ledge because he saw them as only kitchen utensils. His actions caused the cave to crumble and collapse on itself and Strawberry almost saves the utensils, but remembers that her life and her family matters more than the treasures. Leaving them in the collapsing cave. Her impression on him was changed after what had happened.
Apple Dumpling[]
Ever since Boysenberry has changed drastically, Apple has grown to dislike him. Her dislike towards him ramps up when he dams up the river and keeps visiting Strawberry's Family Farm attempting to convince her and them to sell the property. She also grows distrustful of anybody from the city because of him, as she was quite doubtful of Strawberry's friends especially Orange Blossom. When she and the group finds out Boysenberry was with them all along and he had accidentally triggered the second trial, she expresses anger and wishes to kick him, but was stopped by Strawberry. But she did soil Boysenberry's sneakers which was an alternate way to maddening him.
Pineapple Cobbler[]
Pineapple despised Boysenberry ever since he moved out of Berryvile and became a completely different person in personality. Especially when he dams the river and keeps visiting Pineapple's Family Farm to get them to sell their farm. Pineapple seems to loathe Boysenberry differently than Apple, as he openly expresses his justified anger towards him at almost any moment when he's around him but Boysenberry doesn't care less about what he thinks of him.
The Other Berry Besties[]
Boysenberry saw them as other "Berry Bumpkins" when he first saw them, mistaking them as more country people. He did not get along with any of the group.
Trivia[]
- Parsley is based on AI assistants like Siri or Alexa. However, Parsley seems to be more sentient than actual AI assistants. Seeing as it had its own confessional booth near the end of the special.
