"Much better! All that dust in here gave me a sore throat." -- Bobby reveals the real origin of the spooky voice.
Bobby Bananabee is a character from Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City. He makes his debut appearance in the episode No Ordinary Berry which featured him as a construction worker, and later episodes during the first three seasons show him in cameo roles. His name is revealed in The House on Scary Berry Lane, which marks his first major role.
The character is voiced by Sam Darkoh.
Appearance[]
Bananabee is a tall man with dark skin, presumably being of Hispanic or African descent. His hair is dark brown and tied in dreadlocks, and he has some facial hair. He wears a green tank top that has a similar design to fish scales and lime green shorts.
Bobby uses the “black male jogger” character design for background extras, but with green clothing. Other variants of this design can be seen wearing yellow or blue/orange colored clothing.
History[]
After a string of background appearances starting from his debut (including an appearance in Will You Be My Lemontine that establishes his romance with Mr. Mangosteen), Bobby is given a prominent role for The House on Scary Berry Lane. In the episode, Strawberry Shortcake, Raspberry Tart, and Blueberry Muffin go to the titular location to drop off a delivery order, whereupon they hear a threat that they will be destroyed. While the friends go through the house, Strawberry Shortcake is freaked out by some things that she mistakes for monsters. Raspberry Tart, however, identifies the so-called "monsters" as harmless objects such as a mixing bowl, although when the girls see Bobby's shadow, they mistake him for a monster and flee. They bump into Mr. Mangosteen who seems confused as to the reasons behind their fright. Mangosteen reveals his reason for being here: he and Bananabee just bought the place and have been cleaning it out. Bananabee then reveals that his threat to destroy the girls to not really be genuine; he was just experiencing gamer rage at "Berry Brothers Smash". The couple then reveal the beautiful indoor garden located inside the manor, which was their primary reason for moving in. Strawberry Shortcake then admits that she, Tart, and Muffin let their imaginations run a little wild, however, when Mangosteen notices an evil looking marzipan man, Blueberry reminds Strawberry and Raspberry of the tale she told them earlier, and the girls all quickly run out of the house
