Strawberry Shortcake Wiki

This page is a list of minor characters in Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City. They are generally extras that exist to populate the backgrounds of scenes and make locations appear less empty.

Characters with their own pages[]

These are minor characters who have played a major role in an episode.

Named Characters[]

These are characters who don't have major roles in an episode, but had their roles credited in an episode.

Old Man[]

Old Man

Old Man is a recurring extra, and the first of which to appear in the series. It is implied he is from Berryville, as Strawberry was talking to him on the bus in the opening scene. He can regularly be seen in Big Apple City and at the Berryworks. Old Man has been seen working multiple different jobs, such as a photographer in Mission Unfrostable or as the DJ at the Starfruit Express rollerskating rink.

Appearance[]

Old Man is an elderly man with dark skin, a square head, saggy cheeks, a small nose, brown eyes, big eyebrows, and balding grey hair. He wears a brown bowler hat, thick dark green round glasses, a beige sweater, greenish-blue dress jacket, dark green pants pulled up to his belly, a black belt with a kiwi-shaped buckle, and greenish-blue loafers with white laces.

Trivia[]

  • He is voiced by Chirag Naik.
  • He is the second speaking character to appear in the series, after Strawberry Shortcake herself.
  • He is one of the few background extras in the series to get explicit fruit theming, being themed after kiwis. The other is Wheelchair Berry, who is watermelon themed.

Berry Mary[]

Berrymary

Berry Mary is a regular patron at the Berryworks, usually seen ordering something from the various vendor carts parked within the location. She enjoys powdered sugar on her apple fritters. Mary was briefly seen as part of the paparazzi at The Mint Gala, which implies she works as a photographer.

Appearance[]

Berry Mary is a tall woman with dark skin. She has pink hair with a medium layer haircut. She has maroon eyes and dark red lipstick. Berry Mary wears an aubergine sleeveless top with a looping pattern and jeans with the legs rolled up slightly. She wears pink heels.

She shares the same character model as Customer #2 and another background extra.

Trivia[]

  • She is voiced by Andrea Libman in her sole speaking appearance.
  • Her name is notable compared to other characters with full names, as it is simply just the name "Mary" with the word "Berry" added in front, rather than an actual sweet like Buttermilk Beignet or Peach Trifle.
  • Her name is possibly a parody of Mary Berry, one of the judges of The Great British Bake-Off.

Hippy Berry[]

Hippy berry

Hippy Berry is, as his name suggests, a stereotypical hippy who lives in Big Apple City. Like most of the other background characters, he can usually just be seen in the background going about his day or hanging out at the Berryworks. In some episodes, like No Ordinary Berry, he can be seen leading a yoga class, which suggests that this is his main occupation.

Surprisingly, he plays a rather major role in Season 2 episode LemonLime Back in Time. In that episode, which takes place before the events of the series, Hippy Berry visited the Berryworks simply for a glass of lemonade. He first tried the All Time Lime Cart, but proceeded to get banned from the cart by its co-owner Lime Tart, since she only sells lime products to lime aficionados. He then visited the Lemonade Parade, but the owner, Lemon Tort, proceeded to give him a "lemon upgrade" by blasting him with a hose of lemonade. This led to Orange Blossom telling Lemon Tort to chill out, who took offense and promptly quit, then Lime Tart quit shortly after. Upon their departure, Orange Blossom and Blueberry Muffin would get the idea to pair their ex-partners, Lime Chiffon and Lemon Meringue, together as business partners, a partnership that would continue on through the series. To put it simply, Lemon Meringue and Lime Chiffon's friendship happened entirely as a result of Hippy Berry trying to order lemonade.

Appearance[]

Hippy Berry is a dark-skinned man with a long face, a large pointy nose that curves downward, olive half-lidded eyes, and grey hair. He has big bushy eyebrows, a balding head with long hair that reaches his neck and purple flowers strewn throughout, and a big mustache-beard combo.

Hippy Berry wears only a short pink vest, yellow/gold arm bangles, and purple pants with large legs and a dark green waistband/hem. His chest is entirely exposed, with four visible chest hairs and a slightly noticable gut. He is barefoot. In Donuts and Drawbridges, he uses a walking staff.

Trivia[]

  • He is voiced by Vincent Tong.
  • He is one of the few non-main characters in the series to get a singing line in a song. Other characters include Spicy Crust, Aunt Praline, Pumpkin Spice, Honeydew Sorbet, and The Peculiar Purple Pieman.

Appearance[]

Customer #2 is a tall woman with fair skin. She has blonde hair with a medium layer haircut, blue eyes and red lipstick. Customer #2 wears a blue sleeveless top with a looping pattern that matches her eyes, and brown pants with the legs slightly rolled up. She wears dark greenish-blue heels.

She shares the same character model as Berry Mary and another background extra.

Trivia[]

  • She was first voiced by Diana Kaarina until Strawberry's Bad Day!, where she was voiced by Ana Sani instead.
  • She is the first parent to appear onscreen since Rapunzel's Parents from A Princess Named Rap in the 2003 series.

Salesberries[]

Studio Executive[]

Studio Executive is, as her name indicates, a studio executive in Big Apple City. Unusually for an executive, she’s very hands on with the productions of the shows and movies she works on, personally operating cameras or recruiting extras. She is the first hijabi speaking character in the franchise.

Uncredited Speaking Characters[]

The Deliveryboy is, as his name suggests, a courier who delivers orders across Big Apple City. He usually works for Mr. Mangosteen at his fruit stand, but has occasionally worked for other places, such as delivering pizza in Berry Bounty Banquet. His age is unclear, but he appears to be around late-teen/young adult age.

Aunt Praline’s Neighbors[]

Aunt Praline's Neighbors

Aunt Praline’s neighbors are recurring extras. Woman #3 (yellow-shirted woman) appears regularly in Season 1, while Poachella Goer (blue-shirted woman) first appeared in Season 2. The two are shown to live together, across from Aunt Praline's apartment in The Cricket. Aunt Praline comments that they look cute together, implying that they are also a couple, though the two are not seen together much outside of that episode. Woman #3 works as a construction worker in several episodes.

Appearance[]

Woman #3 is a tall woman with dark skin. She has dark brown hair with a medium layer haircut and hazel eyes. She wears a yellow sleeveless top with a looping pattern, and orange pants with the legs slightly rolled up. She wears dark red heels. Woman #3 uses the same character model as Mary Berry and Customer #2.

Poachella Goer is slightly shorter than Woman #3. She has dark skin, a dark brown short undercut, brown eyes, and a gold nose ring. She wears a cyan crop top that exposes her midriff, burlap-colored khakis, and red shoes. Poachella Goer uses the same character model as two other “punk woman” extras, one with pink hair and a black shirt, and one with blonde hair and a yellow shirt.

Trivia[]

  • Woman #3 has been voiced by Andrea Libman in All in the Palm and Margarita Valderrama in Parking Problems. Poachella Goer's voice actress in Parking Problems remains unknown, but can be narrowed down to Ana Sani, Diana Kaarina, Andrea Libman, or Margarita Valderrama.
  • Due to Aunt Praline referring to them as a couple, they are technically the first sapphic couple in the franchise, ironically predating Kiki KeyLime and Aunt Praline herself.

Michael Vogel and Jennifer Korba-Gill[]

These two are cameos made by the showrunner and producer for Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City in the Season 3 finale Bake The World A Better Place. As the Strawberry Shortcake franchise is established to exist within this series, it is entirely possible they also work on the in-universe equivalent of Berry in the Big City as well.

Mentioned-Only Characters[]

These are minor characters who at no point appear or speak onscreen, but are brought up by other characters.

Mayor Molasses[]

Mayor Molasses is the unseen mayor of Big Apple City. Aunt Praline works for him as his chief of staff, but in practice ends up doing most of the heavy lifting due to his incompetence, essentially making her the mayor in all but name. Mayor Molasses is implied to be incredibly unpopular, likely due to his aforementioned incompetence, as Aunt Praline mentions that he does poorly in citizen polls in The Cricket.

Raspberry’s Family[]

Raspberry Ambrosia and Mulberry Tart[]

Raspberry Ambrosia and Mulberry Tart are the parents of Raspberry Tart. Raspberry mentioned her dad is a gourmet chef and her mom is the CEO of an Orchard 500 company, but It is unclear which is Ambrosia and Mulberry. They finally find time to call her in Strawberry Shortcake’s Perfect Holiday at the end of the special, much to Raspberry Tart's delight.

Grandmama Marmalade[]

In many ways she is similar to Strawberry Shortcake's Grandberry Jam, being a beloved grandmother who taught her granddaughter everything she knows about baking and imparted lots of advice on her.
