Berry Merry Melody is the 15th episode of the first season of Berry in the Big City. It premiered on December 4th, 2021.
Summary[]
With the help from the berries, Huckleberry Pie creates the perfect Holiday gift: a customisable song he and the berries share together.
Plot[]
Blueberry Muffin talks about how Winterswirl is a beautiful holiday, bringing up peace on Earth, good will towards other berries, and is then interrupted by Lime Chiffon shouting "presents". Lime excitedly asks if they can start the gift exchange, but Orange Blossom tells her to wait for Strawberry wondering where is she. Strawberry Shortcake yells out that she's here, struggling to pull a huge bag from behind her truck. Once she made it to the four she collapses onto the sack, noting how heavy it is.
Cutaway: Strawberry says she doesn't mean to brag, but she's really good at giving Winterswirl gifts. She says that getting the perfect gift means that you understand your friends, and she always gives the perfect gifts to everyberry.
Blueberry tells Strawberry that these might be the most perfect gifts ever, while the other three girls are enjoying the gifts they got. Blueberry got several candles, Lemon Meringue got either an electric screwdriver or a drill, Lime got a new book, and Orange got a Tangerine Smash action figure. Strawberry confidently responds that she doesn't know if it's the most perfect, but before she can finish her sentence Huckleberry Pie arrives. He tells the girls he didn't want to miss out on the gift exchange, and that he got the most perfect gift for his favorite berries, Strawberry tells him that it's not a competition.
Cutaway: Strawberry finishes her sentence, saying that if it was, then she would be the obvious winner.
Huckleberry tells them that it's a family tradition, and that it's the best gift he can give: a song. The Mean Berries laugh from behind the six of them as Huck starts the song. He sings the first line... and then stops, gesturing to the girls, who just stare at him in confusion. Lemon awkwardly says she "loves it", and Lime asks if there's more to the song. Huck tells her that it's up to them, as the gift is that they get to make the song together. Raspberry interjects, saying that a song as a gift is bad enough, but a song that isn't even finished is worse. Sour Grapes says that she would rather get socks. Strawberry tells Huck not to listen to the Mean Berries and requests him to continue singing, as they now understand how it works.
Huckleberry continues singing the song, What's a Holiday Without You, as Strawberry and her friends join in with their own lyrics. The Berry Besties all sing about Winterswirl, from decorating to shopping, and how the holiday is more fun with friends and family. The five girls make snowmen with their pets, before having a snowball fight started by Lemon. Orange tosses a snowball at Huckleberry, only for him to dodge and it hits Raspberry instead. The Mean Berries end up joining the snowball fight. Afterward, Blueberry makes a snow angel, she gets up to approach Strawberry's food truck for Winterswirl Treats, and the rest of the Berry Besties join her, as Lemon sings that everyberry loves to eat. Raspberry joins in annoyed, singing about how the singing keeps going on all night, but Lime and her friends convince the Mean Berries to join them in the festivities, dragging them to the others. Everyberry decorates the Berryworks with festive decor, dancing with each other. The berries then sing about Winterswirl presents, such as stockings stuffed with candy canes, cakes, toys, and videogames. The last verse has everyberry, including the Mean Berries, dance and sing along with their pets. Huck finishes the song as he watches the other berries from a nearby bench, sitting next to Strawberry. Strawberry thanks him for the gift.
Cutaway: Strawberry talks about how Winterswirl is more than what you give, but who you're giving it to, and that Huckleberry gave them all something special. But smugly adds that she still gives really great gifts.

Trivia[]
- This is the first Christmas-related episode of Berry In The Big City. The second being the following episode, Lemon's Name In Lights.
- Ironically, despite both being the Christmas episodes for Season 1, neither aired on Christmas Day, with Waiting for Genoise being the episode to release on December 25th.
- Christmas is called "Winterswirl" in this series. Later episodes would expand on further details surrounding the holiday.
- This is the first episode to feature all nine of the main cast together.
- The song featured in the episode, What's a Holiday Without You, has an extended version on YouTube as a music video. The extended version includes additional scenes of the Berry Besties celebrating, a solo verse for Strawberry, and some scenes of the Berryworks pets’ antics. One scene also features the Berry Besties opening their gifts, which wasn’t seen in the original episode.
- We learn that Strawberry is highly confident when it comes to WInterswirl gift exchanging.
- Strawberry had not been seen being given her Winterswirl gifts yet, but it can be assumed she opened them off-screen.
- Huckleberry's family may be musicians, as the improv song is a family tradition, however it is unconfirmed.
- This is the first episode to feature the Mean Berries getting along with the Berry Besties, as they join in the song and dance together.
- The action figure that Orange Blossom plays with is eventually established in Dreamy Dessert to be Tangerine Smash, Orange's favorite superhero.
- Raspberry Tart sings for the first time. Interestingly, it appears that Tabitha St. Germain provided her singing in this episode, as Shannon Chan-Kent would not debut as Raspberry's singing voice until New Years Wish.
Continuity[]
- Huck is shown to have joined the Berryworks, after he was invited by Strawberry and Lime in his debut episode, Meet Huckleberry Pie
References to Past Series[]
