[Episode opens to a bus leaving Berryville]
[Scene cuts to Strawberry Shortcake in the bus next to an Old Man]
Strawberry: Becoming the best baker in the world is my big dream! And big dreams need big places to come true. Which is why I left my adorably tiny hometown of Berryville and came to--
Old Man: [grunts]
Strawberry: Oh, uh, what did-- what did you ask me again?
Old Man: If I could scoot past you?
Strawberry: Oh! Yes. Right. Of course. Yeah, you just-- Okay.
Strawberry [to us]: Obviously, I'm very excited to follow my dream to all new adventures in my all new home! Every aspiring baker knows that to get discovered, there's only one place to go.
[Scene shows Strawberry looking out bus window]
Strawberry: Big Apple City! Custard we're here!
Custard: [confused meow]
Strawberry: The city that's always cooking! It's magical, it's magnificent! It's...
[Scene cuts to show Strawberry squished by crowd in subway]
Strawberry: Mighty crowded!
Pedestrian: Excuse me.
Strawberry: Whoa. So many berries! Excuse me. Whoops! [chuckling] Coming through! Oopsie. Whoa.
Unknown voice: There's my favorite niece!
[Crowd parts and shows Aunt Praline at the subway]
Strawberry: [gasps] Aunt Praline!
[They hug, squishing Custard]
Strawberry: [squeals] Ooh!
Custard: [meows]
Strawberry [to us]: Aunty Praline is my super, super cool aunt. When I told her I wanted to move to the Big City, she, uh, said I could stay with her, and she'd help get everything I need to succeed. [laughs] She's the berry best!
[Scene shows them in Aunt Praline's car]
Strawberry: Whoa, whoa, whoa!
[Scene shows different baking celebrities on billboards]
Strawberry: Crabapple Jam! Kiki Keylime! Peculiar Purple Pie Man! No way! [gasps] The biggest names in baking all got their start right here!
Aunt Praline: Sure did! And the next big name is...
Both: Strawberry Shortcake!
Strawberry: I can't wait to get started!
[No Ordinary Berry starts playing]
Strawberry: A fresh new start. A dash of nerves, a pinch of fear--
[Aunt Praline stops her and the music abruptly stops]
Aunt Praline: Uh, uh, uh!
Strawberry: Okay.
Aunt Praline: First piece of advice, skip the heartfelt song. There's no time.
Strawberry: Oh! Oh-- Oh, okay.
Aunt Praline: Every single day, fresh-faced berries arrive in the city. Everyone wants to be the next big thing in baking. You wanna be the best? You gotta be smarter, faster, focused. Keep your eye on the prize.
[She almost runs into another car]
[Horn honking]
[Tires squeal]
[Driver shouting]
Custard: [terrified meow]
Strawberry: Right. Focused.
[Scene shows Aunt Praline's apartment]
Aunt Praline: Fortunately for you, your in-the-know aunt knows the inside scoop. For example, not everyberry knows the first stop in the city has to be the Berryworks.
Strawberry: The what?
Aunt Praline: The Berryworks. Obviously. It's the hottest spot in the city. It has shops, restaurants, and it's where bakers go to get discovered.
[Scene shows Aunt Praline is helping Strawberry get ready for bed]
Aunt Praline: It's also where my niece is going to get her start in her very own food truck!
Strawberry: Aunt Praline, that sounds flan-tastic! And I'm sure that once I get settled, I'll be ready to--
Aunt Praline: Tomorrow.
Strawberry: Excuse me, tomorrow?
Aunt Praline: Tomorrow.
Strawberry: But-- but I just got here. I've barely seen the city, I definitely don't have a food truck.
Aunt Praline: Trust me. You gotta just dive in. And you just let me worry about the truck. Now get some rest. Tomorrow's a big day. Love you so much.
[Room door closes]
Strawberry [to us]: Okay. Wasn't expecting my dreams to take off quite this fast. But you-- you gotta dive in, right? Yeah! Okay, I'm ready. I can't wait to see this truck.
[scene cuts to Strawberry looking at the truck]
Strawberry: What?
Aunt Praline: Ta-da! My old truck, the Praline Dream!
[Custard and Strawbery look at each other]
Aunt Praline: Ultimately, food trucks were not my jam, okay? But now you can take the truck and make your dreams come true.
[Truck screeches and rattles]
Strawberry: Well...
[Aunt Praline grabs Strawberry and Strawberry grabs Custard]
[Custard screeches]
Aunt Praline: Hop in kiddo! Next stop... the Berryworks.
[Truck door falls off]
Aunt Praline: Oh. Okay, yeah, maybe it's a bit of a fixer-upper. But, hey, it has character.
[Truck starts up and she drives off]
[Scene shows tuck arriving at the Berryworks]
[tries screech]
Strawberry: Wow!
[Aunt Praline gets on a scooter]
Aunt Praline: Good luck!
Strawberry: You're leaving?
Aunt Praline: Mayor Molasses is announcing a new Sparkberry factory, and he can't even find the stage without me. But you got this.
[She pulls out horn and honks it]
Aunt Praline: I'm already proud. You text me later, okay? Bye!
[She scooters off]
Strawberry: Okay, Custard! We've got this!
[She pats the hood of the truck]
Truck: [rattling] [tires pop] [air hisses] [squeaks]
Strawberry: Whoo! Yep. Okay, that's not good.
[Ends]
Part 2[]
[Episode starts with Strawberry talking directly to us]
Strawberry: It really was nice of Aunt Praline to give me her old food truck to get started in Big Apple City. It's just that the truck needed a little more work than she realized.
[Scene shows Strawberry in front of the truck]
[The front pops open and a part falls]
[Custard yowls]
Strawberry: Okay, Custard. We can make this work.
[Bread Pudding walks by and sees Strawberry and her truck]
Strawberry: We just need to--
Bread Pudding: Oh-em-gumdrops. What is that?
[She goes up to him and shakes his hand]
Strawberry: Hi! My name is Strawberry Shortcake, and I--
Bread: Yeah, no. I'm not doing peppy and cheerful this early in the morning. Get this thing off Berryworks property before someberry thinks we're the city's new garbage dump.
Strawberry: Oh, well, actually this is my food truck.
[She leans on wooden counter and it snaps]
Strawberry: I mean, sure, it needs a bit of work, but I was gonna--
Bread: Let me stop you.
[He gestures to the Berryworks]
Bread: This is the Berryworks. It's trendy. It's chic. And it's my job to keep it that way.
[He kicks broken counter and gets in Strawberry's face]
Bread: That pile of junk doesn't belong here and neither do you.
[He walks off and Strawberry falls]
Strawberry: Whoa!
Strawberry [to us]: This might be the worst day ever.
[Scene shows Strawberry sitting by the truck stressing]
[Lemon Meringue appears]
Lemon: I can take that off your hands. Name's Lemon Meringue. I love junk. And that is some quality junk.
Strawberry: I actually need this junk. I mean trunk.
[Opens truck's concession window]
Strawberry: It's gonna be my new bakery.
Unknown voice: Oh, so you wanna be our competition?
[Orange Blossom appears and walks up to Lemon and Strawberry]
Strawberry: I didn't think-- I don't want to be--
Orange: Just playing. I love competition the way Lemon loves junk. I'm Orange Blossom.
Strawberry: Strawberry Shortcake.
Orange: Nice to meet you, Shortcakes. Let me guess, fresh off the bus?
Strawberry: I got here yesterday.
Orange: Welcome to Big Apple City. I think you'll find most berries here are pretty friendly.
Unknown voice: I heard we have a brand new berry!
[Lime Chiffon runs up to the group]
Lime: Hi! I'm Lime Chiffon. If you have any questions about, well, anything, come to me! I'm kind of an expert on, well, everything!
[Blueberry Muffin walks up to the group]
Blueberry: [sniffs Strawberry] You smell friendly. I have a good feeling about you.
Orange: We all have shops here at the Berryworks. I run the citrus slice smoothie cart.
[Scene shows Orange's cart]
Orange: Most energy-fueled smoothies in town. Blueberry Muffin runs the Dreamery Creamery ice cream cart.
[Scene shows Blueberry's cart]
Blueberry: This month's featured flavor is Raindrop Raisin Drizzle. It tastes like the forest smels right after a thunderstorm. But with raisins.
Strawberry: That is de- definitely unique. Yes.
Lime: And Lemon Meringue and I work at the Lemonlime Time cart.
[Scene shows Lemon and Limes's cart]
Lime: If you ever need any--
[Strawberry blows nose and sniffs]
Lime: Huh?
[Strawberry sniffles and hugs Lime]
Lemon: Uh, you okay?
[Strawberry continues sniffling]
Strawberry: Sorry. But Big Apple City's just been a little overwhelming. And you're all just so nice. Especially after that berry was so mean this morning.
Lime: Ugh, Bread Pudding? Ignore him. We do.
[They nod]
Strawberry: He called my truck garbage.
Lemon: Hmm, he's not wrong.
Blueberry: [sighs] But it does have good energy!
[She carresses the truck]
Orange: Adding baked goods to the mix could be good for business.
Lemon: If I can't take it apart, might as well put it together.
Strawberry: Really? You'll help me?
Lime: What are new berry buddies for? [laughs]
[They hug]
Strawberry [to us]: This might be the best day ever!
[Truck makeover compilation begins]
[Strawberry bring paint buckets]
[Blueberry paints truck with hands and face]
[Lime places strawberry shrubs on top of the truck]
[Orange cleans counter]
[Strawberry places flour on counter]
[Strawberry hands Lemon and wrench which she uses to fix the motor]
[Truck makeover complilation ends]
[The berries stand next to the new and improved truck]
Orange: Welcome to the Berryworks family!
[Bread walks by and sees the truck, falling over as a result]
Bread: Huh? Whoa!
[Strawberry leans over him]
Strawberry: Hi again. I'm Strawberry Shortcake and this is my food truck, the Extraordinary Berry. I'm new here, but I'm pretty sure this is exactly where I belong!
[Bread gets up and examines the Extraordinary Berry]
Bread; Hmm. Nice color. Cute name. [gasps] Fun garden. I suppose this will do. But I've got my eyes on you.
[Bread does the 'eyes on you' motion but pokes his eyes]
Bread: Ow!
[He walks away]
[Strawberry and her friends giggle and hug]
