And the Smoothie Goes To... (originally titled "And the Golden Smoothie Goes To...") is the 25th episode of the first season of Strawberry Shortcake: Berry In The Big City. It premiered on February 26th, 2022.
Summary[]
Orange Blossom is determined to win the Most Creative Smoothie trophy, and Blueberry Muffin is just the berry to help get her creative juices running.
Plot[]
The episode begins with Orange Blossom showing off pictures of the trophies she's won to Strawberry Shortcake, including "Smoothest Smoothie", "Most Protein-Packed Smoothie", and "Tootiest Fruitiest Smoothie", noting that everyberry cleared out pretty quickly for that last one. Strawberry tells Orange that she has a lot of trophies as she tries to exit the conversation, until Orange dramatically tells her that she hasn't won all of them. Orange explains that she's won every trophy at the Splendidly Scrumptious Smoothie Competition except for one: "Most Creative Smoothie", which greatly annoys her. Strawberry asks why, and Orange responds that likes structure, rules, and goals, while creativity is just making stuff up, asks how anyberry could win at that. Orange then notices Strawberry's enormous grin, and asks why she's looking at her like that.
Cutaway: Strawberry Shortcake notes that Orange needs a crash course in creativity, then "ponders" if only she knew the perfect berry to help her out. Strawberry giggles, and then winks at the audience.
Strawberry and Orange watch Blueberry Muffin, who has stuck her head into a bush. Blueberry then exits the bush, covered in leaves, flowers, butterflies, and twigs, before taking one of the twigs and smelling it. Orange, weirded out, asks Strawberry if she's sure about this. Strawberry assures her that Blueberry is the most creative berry they know and that she can teach Orange. Blueberry walks up to the two, shaking off the foliage covering her, as Strawberry asks her to confirm what she just said. Blueberry tells Orange that the rules of creativity is... there are no rules, as she takes the pen and notepad Orange was holding and tosses them into the air, before she begins running and dancing around. Orange refuses, but Strawberry tells Orange to give her a chance. Blueberry agrees with Strawberry, and then asks the two what they were talking about.
A montage plays of Blueberry Muffin trying to teach Orange Blossom creativity, telling her to "meet the fruit" by giving her an orange, "feel the fruit" with pottery clay molded in the shape of a berry, and to "taste the fruit" as she dumps a bunch of fruit in Orange's blender and turns it on before Orange can put the lid on. After making a mess, Blueberry tells Orange to "be the fruit", but Orange only gets frustrated, shouting that none of that made any sense, before chucking a handful of the mess at the wall in anger. The splatter ends up being in the shape of a flower, which Orange notices. Orange stares at it for a while, and decides that the pattern is kind of pretty, to which Blueberry tells her that she's finally getting it. The two girls continue the creativity lessons, Blueberry helping Orange mold a pottery sculpture of an orange slice before smushing and remolding it into an odd shape, climbing into bushes and smelling the twigs, several other revisitations of the prior lessons, and dancing together. The two use fruit to make portraits of each other, watching an ant take a small berry away, and meditating with fruit on their head.
The Splendidly Scrumptious Smoothie Competition is now underway, with the judges consisting of Genoise la Creme, Bread Pudding, and some random woman. Orange Blossom is up against Mr. Mangosteen's boyfriend and some random kid. Orange uses Blueberry Muffin's creativity lessons in her smoothie-making, as she "meets" an orange and places it in her blender. Strawberry cheers and tells Blueberry she really did help bring out Orange's creative side. Blueberry tells Strawberry that Orange's "inner artist could always sing", and all she did was turn up the volume. Orange then adds cereal, an onion and an eggplant into the smoothie and starts blending it as she sniffs a twig. Strawberry, concerned, asks Blueberry how high she turned it up. Bread tells the competitors to stop their blending, as the crowd cheers on. Strawberry tells Orange she did a good job in an unsure tone, when Orange notices Bread is trying out her smoothie. Bread immediately start's gagging. Orange asks Strawberry if his face says that the smoothie is super creative. The screen cuts back to Bread, still disgusted, wringing his tongue in an attempt to get the taste out while saying the smoothie tastes like juicy socks. Strawberry can only respond with an unsure "maybe?", while Blueberry assures Orange that most artists don't get the recognition they deserve until they're dead.
Bread Pudding, holding a trophy in his hand, tells the crowd that before they declare the winner of the competition, he has an announcement. The judges decided to create an entirely new category for one of this year's more unique entries, before proceeding to award "Worst Smoothie" to Orange Blossom. Orange is in disbelief...and then starts celebrating, deciding that getting a whole trophy category created just for her is way better than "Most Creative Smoothie". She happily takes the trophy from Bread, and proceeds to high-five everyberry on stage while declaring she's the best at being the worst. Strawberry awkwardly cheers Orange on, Blueberry happily cheers Orange on, and the audience watches on in confusion.
Cutaway: Strawberry Shortcake tries to deliver the moral of the episode, saying that the thing about creativity is that it's not about being the best. Orange then interrupts her by saying she is the best, at being the worst, before continuing to celebrate. Strawberry finishes her sentence, clarifying that it's about being yourself. Blueberry interrupts Strawberry by chasing butterflies onto the cutaway, and agrees with her as she says that art is a journey, before sniffing a twig. Strawberry shrugs and says to just go with it as the episode ends.

Trivia[]
- This episode is the first where multiple characters appear in one cutaway segment, as Strawberry Shortcake's cutaway at the end of the episode has Orange Blossom and Blueberry Muffin interrupt her.
- The smoothie trophies that Orange Blossom owns use the same model as the chocolate trophy in Will You Be My Lemontine, but colored gold rather than chocolate brown.
- The "Tootiest Fruitiest Smoothie" award is a pun on Tutti frutti, a flavor meant to simulate the taste of various fruits, and "toot", which is commonly associated as being the onomatopoeia for farting.
- If one really wants to recreate Orange's "smoothie" for whatever reason, it consists of lemon, lime, orange, strawberry, grapes, peach, cereal, onion, and eggplant. All ingredients are to be used whole, peels and leaves included.
Continuity[]
- Blueberry Muffin's eccentricity with art comes back up after her debut episode, which briefly featured her painting Strawberry's truck by using her face.
- The running gag where a berry mentions a problem they're having, then notice Strawberry has an enormous grin and asking why she's making that face/looking at them like that, before Strawberry immediately brings them to something/someberry to solve their problem, returns in this episode. This gag was first introduced in Lemon's Name in Lights, and also appeared in Be Your Berry Best, though the latter had Lime Chiffon do the gag while Strawberry was on the receiving end.
- Bread Pudding is once again the host of a competition, like he was in the previous episode for the Golden Berry Challenge.
